New Content, New Adventures

The Never Daunted Radio Network returns from the dead in 2022 with a new look, new name (kinda) and other surprises

Admittedly, it’s been awhile since you’ve seen anything from this site, almost a year, to be exact. There are numerous reasons I can share, but regardless of rhyme or reason, this once-promising site became a dead one.

One of the primary reasons was the site’s permanent deplatforming from Twitter. By losing that avenue to share and hopefully spread content, the site suffered greatly, causing a general lack of desire to create new content, tell new stories and build the site into what it is supposed to become.

Fast forward to 2021, and the work begins again.

Starting today, the Never Daunted Radio Network begins to claw its way back from nothingness to its previous spot of obscurity and this is only the beginning. The site itself enjoys a soft relaunch today with new content both live and recorded courtesy of our also formerly-dormant YouTube channel where you will see some of the goings on at Exxxotica Expo DC (actually in Virginia), which is a small part of an even larger effort to make this site into something special, and that’s full-length and short subject documentaries on a variety of topics, of which we’ll be starting with sex positivity, a subject near and dear to my heart, and I hope you all come along for the ride.

As for the Podcast, that will also be returning in 2022 in a slightly different format. The Never Daunted Radio Network is designed to be a true network, featuring a variety of voices and subjects covering a variety of subjects. While it never quite got there in our original incarnation, the goal for the relaunch is to lean into the original promise and make the site live up to its potential.

We are still Never Daunted. That Means Something. But for this site to achieve its final form, it also has to be more than that.

Written work will still be a large part of the experience, and with that comes the return of film and music reviews. These are some of the things I’ve been asked for during our years of dormancy, and I believe the time is right to return to where we started while also going to more than a few new places.

For those of you who occasionally still peek in to see if there’s anything new, I thank you. While this site doesn’t deserve your support, it is my sincere hope that the site, and more importantly myself is able to earn your support from scratch. The only way to do that is the only way it can ever really be done, and that’s by giving you fresh and fun content that makes you laugh, makes you think and also makes you come back for more.

It’s good to be back, but we have a long way to go.

2022 will also bring the biggest change of all, a site refresh that retains some of what brought us to this point, but also a look at an even larger picture. As those of you who have always followed the site know, the Never Daunted Radio Network began as a nightly podcast meant to bitch about Indiana University sports and whatever other topics came to mind. As the site returns to shape itself into its next form, the name is going to also evolve.

We are still Never Daunted. That means something. But for this site to achieve its final form, it also has to be more than that. While the new name isn’t quite ready to be revealed, I can tell you that the site has a new motto, and it’s one that defines who we are from now on:

“Ethical Sarcasm.”

What does that mean? Basically Ethical Sarcasm, and the idea of it, is our waystar. It is a direction that we will never deviate from, because whether this is a real site or a vanity project, ethics come first. But more on that soon.

For now, just know we’re back, and I’m treating this like a day-one project. Today is day one. You will get content today, and that’s the promise, like an alcoholic in recovery: One Day at a Time.

Hashim R. Hathaway (Shimbo) is the host of the Never Daunted Radio Network, and deadbeat father to NeverDaunted.Net. You can’t reach him on Twitter anymore, so maybe Parler? (Dear God, no.)
