For starters, you want something that’s airtight and so the light and air stay out. Glass Mason jars work well for this. Glass is also preferable because it has a neutral charge.

Once you have that down, you want to store the jar in a cool, dark place. But watch out for mold! Remember, bacteria thrive in temperatures between 77 – 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

Basically, It’s all about the sticky icky – the fragile little resin glands called trichomes. Experts warn that these little buggers are easily shaken off and damaged, leading to compromised potency.

Myth buster #1: Should I use a plastic bag?

If you’re storing your stash in plastic bags, you’re doing it all wrong. All bags have some static that attracts the tiny resin glands that you are trying to keep intact on the plant.

Myth Buster #2: Can I freeze my bud?

Nope. That will turn your trichomes into frozen icicles! refrigeration isn’t recommended either, due to the constant fluctuation in temperature.

ProTip #1

It’s a good idea to keep you daily supply separate from the rest. This will minimize how much you handle your product and it keeps more air and light out of your main supply.

ProTip #3

Separate your stored cannabis from other paraphernalia like glass pieces, rolling papers, and grinders. The nasty scent of burnt ash and resin will be absorbed throughout your cannabis collection. Also, it’s just good manners to keep everything fresh and clean.
