The results are in and first-in-the-nation-primary went to business mogul Donald Trump. It’s a sign of the Republican times – conservatives in New Hampshire don’t think America is great and are looking for this Chief Executive Officer to be their next Commander-in-Chief.
The public opinion polls proved to be true – Donald Trump won the Granite State’s primary on Tuesday evening.
It’s a much different story from what unfolded at the Iowa caucuses on the first of this month. In Iowa, Ted Cruz, the Republican Senator from Texas came out on top of the GOP heap and Trump came in third.
This is a win for his nationalist, anti-establishment campaign.
“We are going to make America great again,” Trump started his winners’ speech. He thanked his family and supporters saying, “remember, you started it.”
In his speech, he double downed on his stump speech promises including; repealing Obamacare, building a wall, getting rid of Common Core, and protecting gun owners’ rights. Regarding the deadly string of terror attacks in Paris he said, “if there were bullets going in the other direction, it would have been a different story.”
“I’m going to be the greatest jobs president that God ever created,” he said to an already roaring crowd.
The spirited room got even louder when he announced his next step, “we will win in South Carolina,” said Trump.
Trump won with 35.1 percent, John Kasich came in second with 15.9 percent, and Ted Cruz is third with 11.6 percent. Jeb Bush came in a close fourth place only half-of-a-point behind Cruz. (Updated as of 2/10/16 1:05 AM)
